How to choose a pool builder in Mallorca (without getting burned)
A pool is a significant investment, and the company you choose matters as much as the design. Mallorca has excellent pool builders, and a few you would want to avoid. Here is how to tell them apart before you sign anything.
Check the basics first
- Licensing and insurance. A reputable builder is properly registered and insured. Ask to see it. This protects you if something goes wrong on site.
- A real track record. Ask for recent local projects and, ideally, to see one. Photos are easy to fake; finished pools on the island are not.
- References. Speak to past clients. A confident builder will happily connect you.
Look closely at the quote
A trustworthy quote is detailed and in writing. It should spell out the works, materials, timeline, payment stages and what is excluded. Be cautious of a price far below the others, or a vague one-line figure. The cheapest quote often becomes the most expensive once the extras appear.
Watch for red flags
- Pressure to pay a large sum up front in cash.
- No written contract or unclear payment stages.
- Reluctance to share licences, insurance or references.
- Promises that sound too good, like an infinity pool at a standard-pool price.
An easier way to find a trusted builder
Vetting builders yourself takes time. That is exactly why we built our network. Every company we work with is checked for licensing, insurance and a real track record before we ever recommend them, which you can read about on our about page. Tell us about your pool project and we match you with vetted local builders, so you can compare honest quotes with confidence.
