How much does it cost to build a pool in Mallorca?
It is the first question almost every Mallorca homeowner asks: what does a pool actually cost to build here? The honest answer is that it depends on a handful of clear factors, but you can reach a realistic range quickly. Here is how pool pricing works on the island in 2026, and how to get an accurate figure for your own plot.
The short answer
For a private pool in Mallorca, most projects fall between roughly €20,000 and €60,000. A small fibreglass or compact concrete pool with a standard finish starts around €15,000 to €25,000. A mid-sized concrete pool of about 8 by 4 metres with a quality finish typically lands between €25,000 and €40,000. Large or luxury pools with premium materials, an infinity edge or a spa can run well beyond €50,000.
What drives the price
- Pool type. Concrete (gunite) is the most flexible and durable, and usually the most expensive. Fibreglass is faster and often cheaper for smaller, standard shapes.
- Size and depth. More volume means more excavation, materials and equipment.
- Finish. A standard tile or liner costs far less than porcelain, natural stone or glass mosaic.
- Your site. Flat, easy access is cheap to work with. Sloping plots, rock, tight village access or a hilltop finca all add cost.
- Extras. Heating, an automatic cover, lighting, salt-water systems and landscaping each add to the total, and to comfort and value.
Why Mallorca costs a little more
Building on an island carries a premium. Materials and equipment have to be shipped over, and many of the best plots sit on rocky or sloping ground. Permits and licensing also take time. None of this should put you off, but it is why a Mallorca quote can be higher than the same pool on the mainland.
